The first ridge is covered with prevention nets. The second ridge is mixed with shallots that give off smell which insects don’t like. The third ridge is open to any insects. The fourth ridge is sprayed with homemade chili pepper water, and the last ridge is sprinkled with coffee grounds to prevent insects.
The vegetables in the organic garden have grown up after 27 days of children’s care. Today we are going to carry out weeding, insect prevention experiments through inquiry-based approach. And we will use homemade organic liquid fertilizer for watering and manuring.

Our school always ban the spraying of herbicides, we can only weed by our hands. The children removed the weeds between the dense bok choy and observed the insects in the farm at the same time. Then the small farmers started the insect prevention operation. Everyone grabbed some coffee grounds and sprinkled them on the vegetables. Then several children helped spray the chili pepper water. In the process, children should watch out the wind direction, and wear the goggles and mask to protect eyes and nose.
