Let’s watch the Google Map. The yellow star is the location of my school, Dashan Elementary School. My school is near the Taiwan Strait and between the Zhonggang River and Houlong River.

You can see a vast farmland around my school. Most of the residents cultivate rice, watermelons, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, and peanuts. In other words, my school is located in a typical countryside. In addition, our school is near the seacoast, thus we can watch a lot of wind generators on the seashore of the Taiwan Strait. This is an opportunity for students to learn about Renewable Energy.

There are 157 students in my school including 9 classes, from 1st grade to 6th grade. And there are 17 teaching staffs to take care of these students. Over the past few years, we built the solar panels, rainwater harvesting system, and agricultural education garden. All the facilities become the mediums of environmental education. Little by little, we march toward the sustainable campus.

If you want to know about my school more, you can watch the video on the YouTube channel. I have a presentation to outline the program of “Learning for a sustainable future”. (105-08-01,Dashan E.S.)
